Welcome to Cultural Companions! Our mission is to connect older adults with a shared interest in cultural and arts events throughout Cork City and County. We aim to foster meaningful connections and promote great shared experiences.
Whether you are new to Cork or simply looking to make some new friends and get out more, our programme offers a unique opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and explore the vibrant social and cultural scene in your area. With local networks of Cultural Companions now established in North Cork, East Cork, West Cork and Cork City as a member you will have many chances to attend art exhibitions, theatre, concerts,heritage tours and much more, all while building friendships and connections.
Cultural Companions is a supportive and inclusive community where everyone can feel welcome and inspired. Membership is free.

Cork Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts Initiative, delivered in Cork by Muintir Cork and supported by Cork City and Cork County Council and the HSE.
When you sign up as a member of Cultural Companions you will receive a monthly newsletter to your inbox (or via post if you do not have access to email.) This newsletter will give you all the details of that particular month's selected event which Cultural Companions will attend together. There will be an assigned place and time for members to meet before the event usually a café near to the venue.
There will be Cultural Companions Meet and Greeter there to welcome you. As a member you can volunteer to be a meet and greeter at the events and be a friendly and welcoming presence to new people joining the group.
As a member you are invited to join your local group's WhatsApp chat group. This is a busy and fun space where members often make plans to go to other events and outings with one another.
As a member you will receive a monthly Cork Cultural Companions Newsletter detailing the events happening in your local area.
Members are always welcome to attend events in other areas also.

It is completely free to join as a member. There is no obligation to attend any events - you decide how much you get involved in the programme.
Some members choose to get the newsletter only, some come to all events, some to a few that suit them, some members become more involved by volunteering as meet and greeters and/or by attending the local coordination meetings where we select the events we will attend over the coming months.
Members purchase their own tickets for any ticketed events. At times Cork Cultural Companions partner with arts organisations or venues to provide discounted tickets for Cultural Companions Members
